Assistant Prof. Kim Veara Serves as Panelist at Asia-Pacific Ministerial Review on Sustainable Graduation Partnerships

On 1 April 2026, Assistant Prof. Kim Veara, Director of the ASEAN Economic Research Institute, served as a panelist in Session 6 on "Mobilizing International Partnerships for Sustainable Graduation (Key Focus Area 6)" at the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Mid-term Review of "The Doha Programme of Action for LDCs for the Decade 2022-2031".


The session discussed the importance of strengthening international partnerships, mobilizing sustainable financing, and enhancing cooperation to support Least Developed Countries in achieving a smooth and sustainable graduation.

The session explored strategies to accelerate structural transformation, focusing on strengthening productive capacities, supporting MSMEs, and promoting higher value-added sectors, with participation from policymakers, development partners, United Nations agencies, and other stakeholders.

NUM FAB Center of Excellence: Advancing Research Through the FAB Erasmus+ Project


On March 26, 2026, junior researchers from the NUM FAB Center of Excellence (NUM Family Business Center of Excellence) participated in Seminar 1 at Camboverse, NUM International Campus. This week’s seminar featured IBBA thesis teams applying Comparative Advantage Theory and Managerial Economics to their research, followed by discussions where they presented their insights.

The session also included a practice component, allowing students to apply these concepts directly to their thesis work. The NUM FAB Center of Excellence continues to support student researchers through academic guidance and industry engagement under the FAB Erasmus+ Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

On March 26, 2026, the NUM Student Research Club held Week 10 of Seminar 1 at the CamboVerse Center, NUM International Campus. 

This week's seminar featured a presentations by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐂𝐡𝐡𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐞 (DE B2) on "𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫𝟕: 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬" from the book "𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬". The seminar also included a practice session, where iBBA students applied the concepts from the presentation to their thesis work.

The seminar wrapped up with presentations by research club members on their assigned tasks from the previous week.

Assigned by H.E. Rector, Mr. Kim Veara, Director of the ASEAN Economic Research Institute, attended the 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐩, on 25 March 2026, organized by the UNDP and Ministry of Economy and Finance, as part of the 23-27 March 2026 mission.

The mission convened key government stakeholders, development partners, and technical experts to support the scoping and validation of the Foresight Roadmap, with focus on strengthening institutional coordination, enhancing foresight capacity, and advancing its practical implementation.

Participants of the Certificate Course on Policy and Program Evaluation (Round 3) completed Week 1 today at the NUM International Campus, focusing on 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝟏: 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭 & 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 at the NUM International Campus (Vealsbov Campus) and Group Discussions. 


Junior Researchers From the NUM FAB Center of Excellence Presented Research Progress

On March 19, 2026, junior researchers from the NUM FAB Center of Excellence presented their research progress during Seminar 1, held at the AERI Office, NUM International Campus.


This week’s session featured a thesis update by Mr. Long Kirivann and Mr. Phan Piseth (iBBA B4) on the topic: “Vulnerability of Micro-Merchants to Digital Payment Fraud Scams in Phnom Penh Local Markets.” The presentation was followed by constructive feedback and recommendations from the supervising professor.


The NUM FAB Center of Excellence plays a key role in supporting student researchers by providing guidance and facilitating connections with industry partners. The center was established under the FAB Erasmus+ Project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union.

On March 19, 2026, the NUM Student Research Club held Week 9 of Seminar 1 at the AERI office, NUM International Campus. 

This week's seminar featured a thesis progress update by 𝐌𝐫𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐫𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐡 (iBBA B4) on "𝐕𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨-𝐌𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐡 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭", with the professor provided feedback and recommendations.

Today, March 14, 2026, the 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 (𝐀𝐄𝐑𝐈) at the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐍𝐔𝐌), in collaboration with the 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 and the 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 (𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚), officially launched 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 3 of the 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 at NUM’s International Campus (Vealsbov Campus).


Supported by 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐅 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚, this 32-hour program continues to strengthen 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐌&𝐄) capacity among policymakers and postgraduate students, fostering 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 for 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟐𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, a staff member from the 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 participated in the 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 (𝐓𝐎𝐓) on Environmental Education, Climate Change, and E-learning Systems held at 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐡 𝐒𝐢𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐢 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 in Phnom Penh.


The training was organized under the 𝐀-𝐒𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐘 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 to strengthen the capacity of educators in integrating environmental and climate change topics into their teaching through innovative and digital learning approaches. The program brought together teachers and project teams for interactive sessions, group discussions, and knowledge sharing on key topics such as climate change concepts, biodiversity conservation, sustainable food systems, and green economy.


Through this participation, AERI continues to support knowledge exchange and collaborative initiatives that promote sustainable development and environmental awareness among educators and youth.

This week's seminar featured two presentations on chapters from the book "Introduction to Social Research." 𝐌𝐫𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐝𝐨𝐦 (iBBA B4) presented "𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟔𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚," and 𝐌𝐬𝐊𝐞𝐨 𝐏𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐍𝐢𝐭𝐚 (iBBA B4) presented "𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟕𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 (𝐂𝐨𝐧'𝐬)."

The National University of Management will host the Opening Ceremony for 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝟑 of the Certificate Course on Policy and Program Evaluation 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at 𝐍𝐔𝐌 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 (𝐕𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐛𝐨𝐯).


This program is jointly organized by 𝐀𝐄𝐑𝐈, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 (𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚), with the 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐅 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚. Building on the success of previous rounds, the course continues to provide a platform for policymakers and professionals to strengthen their knowledge and practical skills in monitoring and evaluation.

The Open Seminar on "Influence of Pollutants on Human Health and Animals" was successfully held on 2 March 2026 at the National University of Management.


Jointly organized with Kanazawa University, the seminar brought together distinguished professors, researchers, and students for an engaging morning of academic exchange.


The program featured insightful presentations, interactive Q&A sessions, and meaningful discussions on environmental pollution, human health, and ecosystem impacts.

AERI Researchers and NUM Students Attend “Vee Together” Tourism Initiative Launch


On the morning of February 27, 2026, Researcher of the ASEAN Economic Research Institute and three students from the National University of Management attended the launch event "Vee Together - Driving Tourism Businesses in Cambodia" at the Rosewood Phnom Penh Hotel.

Particularly, as part of this project, NUM, via AERI, will contribute to tourism data analysis and the preparation of research reports.

As Cambodia continues to experience rapid economic growth and urban development, environmental challenges such as agro-chemical contamination, industrial waste, and urban pollution are becoming increasingly significant.


This seminar will feature research presentations by distinguished scholars from Japan, covering topics including marine pollution, fish immune defense mechanisms, human biomonitoring of environmental chemicals, and health risk assessment.

On 25 December 2025, the NUM Student Research Club held Seminar 1 at the CamboVerse Center, NUM International Campus. The session opened with guiding remarks by 𝐇.𝐄. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐇𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐠, Rector of NUM and Club President, emphasizing the value of research and skill development.  The seminar featured two student presentations—Introduction to Social Research by Mr. Phan Piseth (iBBA B4) and Nature and Scope of Managerial Economics by Mr. Va Mouniseyhak (SPP M2)—and concluded with a Special Lecture on Data Analysis with Excel: Module 1 by Professor Phim Runsinarith.

ឯកឧត្តមបណ្ឌិត បានលើកឡើងថា វិបត្តិព្រំដែនកម្ពុជា-ថៃ មានទាំងហានិភ័យ និងឱកាសសេដ្ឋកិច្ច។ ឯកឧត្តមបណ្ឌិត បានលើកឡើងពីភាពធន់ និងសាមគ្គីភាពរបស់ប្រជាជនកម្ពុជា តាមរយៈកំណើនតម្រូវការផលិតផលក្នុងស្រុក និងសកម្មភាព SME ក្នុងវិស័យអាហារ។ ចំពោះស្ថានភាពបច្ចុប្បន្ន ត្រូវមានបទឈប់បាញ់ជាបន្ទាន់ ព្រមជាមួយនឹងការកសាងឡើងវិញនូវទំនាក់ទំនងការទូត ដើម្បីស្តារសេដ្ឋកិច្ចព្រំដែន និងទំនុកចិត្តវិនិយោគិន។

On December 18, 2025, The NUM Student Research Club officially welcomed 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬, at the CamboVerse Center, NUM International Campus.

The session 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡, and followed by 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐛 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 by 𝐌𝐬𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐲𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐕𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚 and 𝐌𝐬𝐓𝐞𝐩 𝐒𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐤𝐡𝐚, as well as 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫'𝐬 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝟒 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐀𝐁 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 by 𝐌𝐬𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐲. The session then continued with 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 presentations by 𝐌𝐬𝐋𝐲 𝐒𝐨𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐲 and 𝐌𝐬𝐓𝐢𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐲.

The session concluded with task assignments and a brief discussion on upcoming sessions.

Our closing day featured group presentations, a post-test, certificate awards for Batch 1, and a lunch to celebrate our participants’ hard work.

Today’s workshop strengthened our understanding of 𝐂𝐁𝐀 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐬, the 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐰, and 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬. We also took part in a group exercise to identify key costs and benefits from the perspectives of 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬, and 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬 in the 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐰𝐬.

CHAIn and UNICATION Project Held Cambodia National Dialouge 

The project teams from 𝐀𝐄𝐑𝐈 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐈 at the 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, as key implementing partners of the CHAIn and UNICATION projects, were honored to support the 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐧 "𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧." The event was co-organized by MoEYS and NUM, with support from partner HEIs in Cambodia and Europe, and was held on 17–18 November 2025 at NUM.

The event featured a keynote by 𝐇.𝐄. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐒𝐨𝐦 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐚, Secretary of State of MoEYS, who highlighted priorities of 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟖 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, together with contributions from national and international partners. The Dialogue brought together government representatives, university leaders, researchers, and international experts to explore ways to strengthen internationalization, quality assurance, and cross-border academic collaboration in Cambodia’s higher education sector.

The symposium, themed “Advancing Together: Korea–ASEAN Strategic Alliance Toward ASEAN Vision 2045,” brought together senior policymakers, scholars, and researchers from Korea, ASEAN, and Australia to discuss key issues in sustainable smart innovation, strategic cooperation, and the future of Korea–ASEAN relations.
